Pre Lab
Directions/Description: In this lab we will be using video analysis software to analyze the motion of a projectile. In this case, the projectile is a basketball shot. Projectile motion describes the trajectories and velocities of objects that have been launched, shot, thrown, etc in such a way that they are only influenced by the force of gravity. We will explore this in two labs, which include a video analysis this week and a hands on lab next week.
Prior to this week's lab be sure to 1) Watch the video below, 2) Explore the simulation below the video, and 3) Complete the pre-lab quiz on Blackboard. Also, just for fun, here is an example of projectile motion on the right ->->-> |

Pre Lab Video
Simulation
Explore this simulation to see what variables control the flight of projectiles. You may use the simulation to answer the pre lab quiz questions as well.
Required software for simulation can be found at: https://phet.colorado.edu/en/simulation/legacy/projectile-motion
Pre-Lab Quiz is available at the course Blackboard website
Lab
This week you will be completing the Projectile Motion - Video Analysis lab (page 21) from your lab manual. You will be using Logger Pro 3.8.6.1 software to complete this lab.
